The Maldives public ferry system connects inhabited islands across the atolls. Ferries are affordable and run on fixed weekly schedules — typically 6 days a week (no service on Fridays, the weekly holiday).
Some routes require connections between different ferry services. Connection times vary — check the individual route pages for exact timings. Ferries are basic but comfortable, with covered seating areas.
